Remove files during extension update
Hello! I have a commercial cross-platform Photoshop extension which I'm maintaining. We're currently using a zxp package via Adobe Exchange with a .mxi file controlling installation. The problem we're running into is how to consolidate installation locations. Old pre-Exchange versions of our plugin could be in the Photoshop.app bundle itself under Contents/Required/Plug-ins, or in the standard Applications/Photoshop X/Plug-Ins. We support Photoshop versions all the way back to CS5 on both Windows and MacOS. We'd like to make sure those older versions installed within the Photoshop bundle get cleaned up as we publish upgrades, not least because the older versions of Photoshop get confused when different versions of the same extension shows up in multiple locations. I have heard through the grapevine that it should be possible to specify in the .mxi either a post-install script, or a list of files that need to be cleaned up, but I can't find any documentation of this. I've looked at this document, which seems to cover the .mxi format pretty thoroughly, but nothing about install scripts or removing files:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/extensionmanager/cs/using/MXI_tech_note.pdf
Or is there a different way we should be handling this? Here's what our .mxi looks like currently (more or less):

Extension manager can't install JSX files
I recently upgraded to the latest version of CC, and for some reason can't install jsx extension files (can only install .zxp). I know very little about scripting, and am trying to install the Coolorus color wheel extension to Photoshop. I've had the software installed for a long time, don't understand why it was uninstalled. Any help with this would be great!

No products in Extension Manager
Hi,
i'm a user of the Adobe Photoshop CS 6 (13.1.2) based on the subscription service in Creative Cloud.
As you can see, my photoshop got the latest updates.
I wanted to install the Adobe Exchange panel and ran into a lot problems. It wasn't possible to install it over the extension manager (manifest error, because my photoshop is too "new").
When i wanted to give up i read on Facebook, that you can install the Panel over the Adobe Application Management.
So i did and was happy it's running finally.
Now when i want to install "Adobe Paper Texture Pro" for example, the panel downloads the file and starts to open the Extension Manager.
(The extension manager is up2date too, no updates available over Appl. Mnmgt).
The Manager opens and tries to install the extension. But then i always (with every extensions tried) got a message, that Photoshop 12.0 or 13.0 or higher is needed to install the extension.
Huh? My photoshop version is the latest version
The extension manager is not showing any products there. I reinstalled the extension Manager manually with the latest version of the adobe page, but this didn't help.
I'm using Windows 7.
Why is this so? Extension Manager 6.0.7 Update Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
What is this about?
Please advise??
Help please. CS6 exchange panel will not load.
Hi,
I have Photoshop CS6 extended and for some reason my adobe exchange panel will not load. This only happened earlier today. I have been designing all week and never had a problem before this. I cannot load any of the panels in Photoshop. I have done everything possible and trust me I worked on a solution for over 5.5 hours searching reading, uninstalling re installing etc and no solution. I just keep getting this error message "Cannot complete command because the extension could not be loaded".
The version of Extension Manager is 6.0.7.6. I came back to edit this as I should have mentioned that I did disable my anti virus.
I would really appreciate any advice please.
Thank you in advance
Rosa
I have since discovered that the problem was the software onOne Perfect Photo Suite 8 which I had installed earlier today - so have contacted onOne for support. I ended up un-installing the program and Photoshop has returned back to normal.

Failed to Validate the License Online
When attempting install of add-ons, I get the error: "Failed to Validate the License Online". I've tried installing through the CC addon website and via the extension manager, but I still get the same issue. Download and install of all CC apps is fine, just having a problem with add-ons. Windows 7, 64-Bit PC.
Can Not See Installed Extension in PS CS6 After Successful Instalation
I downloaded and installed a texture extension from Adobe using Extension Manager. Closed and reopened PS, but the extension is not showing in
Win/Extensions panel. The installation completed without any errors or problems.
I purchased a bad extension for my Adobe product
I posted this a few days ago and it was deleted. by the Moderator. "Do not purchase DwZone Shopping Cart. The features shown on the demo do not work. They offer a money back guarantee but they refuse to refund my $ though it has been less that 30 days."
I would expect that an extension promoted on the the Adobe Exchange would be vetted and if the developer claims that there is a money back guarantee, that Adobe would make sure that this money back guarantee is true. I cannot review this product on the exchange because I bought it directly from DwZone, not through the Adobe Exchange though it was loaded through my Extension Manager. Please let me know who at Adobe I am to contact to remedy this situation. I don't want other web developers to be shystered as I was.
Extension Manager CC not loading under User account on Mac Mountain Lion
HI
I am trying to install a DWUser add in called EasyRotator into Dreamweaver CC. I cannot get Extnesion Manager to launch properly though. The Manager window comes up but the little white clock icon simply spins around for ages then finally when it stops it does not list any applications despite the fact that I have the full Master Collection installed. I managed to get it to load properly under my Admin account but it did not install the add in for all users for some reason (I was not even offered any option about that - when I installed this add in to Dreamweaver CS6 with the CS6 Extension Manager I was given the option of installing for only me or all users).
When I log in under my non-admin user account (I use a separate admin account as I was advised to do this for security reasons) I launch Extension manager CC but it takes forever to launch and when it does it lists no Adobe applications, hence I cannot install the add in to Dreamweaver for this account.
I am having to edit the easyrotator in Dreamweaver CS6 as that works! Why does CC not work?
Oh and BTW when I try to close the Extension Manger CC it fails to respond and I have to force quit it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Trouble submitting through Producer Portal
I've submitted a few extensions for InDesign and InCopy but their status just keeps saying "Analysis in progress, less than one minute remaining" for multiple days now. Has anyone run into this and can offer a solution?
It is apparently impossible to talk to any human being at Adobe about Exchange or Producer Portal, so that's fun...
Also, why isn't there a forum for Adobe Exchange?

Adobe Extension Manager CC frozen
Hi,
I have been having some serious problems with the Adobe Extension Manager.
I while ago, I updated from Photoshop CS6 to Adobe Creative Cloud and when I saw my Photshop extensions were not installed in Photshop CC, I launched the Extension Manager CC and was trying to install them to get the extensions in Photoshop.
What happened was, the Extension Manager froze somewhere in the middle of the isntallation and wasn't doing anything for more than 8 hours when I was installing the first extension. The Extension Manager wasn't reacting at all so I had to kill it, and ever since I open it up again the Extension Manager can't load and it gets stuck with the working-clock icon (see the attached image).
After I restart the computer I can open up the manager, however, when I try to install any extension again, it gets frozen again in the middle of the installation and I have to forse quit the app again. I uninstalled it and installed it again, but no change.
The Extension manager was running smoothly on CS 6 but I had no luck with the CC. What is intersting though is when I install extensions not through the Extension Manager as "Subtle Patterns" it's showing in Photoshop and there are no problems with it.
I'm running on Mac OS X 10.8.5
Hope to get some help because I would really need those exptensions. Thank you.
Regards,
Sam
